Hi, I’m Sherrie, owner of Spritely Digital.

I know what it's like to have that dream of owning my own business. And I know the challenges faced by new entrepreneurs.

 

Soon after starting my first small business, I found myself stuck. I knew that creating sales and marketing products would take my business to the next level, however, I had a few challenges. There were so many things to do, I was overwhelmed. Although I knew what I should do, my focus and well-made plans evaporated each time I read the latest newsletter proclaiming yet another new list of, "5 things you must do to start your business". I didn’t have the budget to hire a team to set up my website, do all the content and marketing, or to buy all the tools I needed. I didn’t have a blog or email list and I didn’t know how to attract subscribers to my website. I was concerned that I might not get back the $$ I had invested in my new business. 

 

Finally, I was able to cut through the murk and overwhelm. I combined education and research with years of corporate business training to bring to you a realistic approach to small business growth and marketing. That insight is what I bring to you through the Start Your Small Business course.

While knowing why you want to start a business is important, so is having a vision of your life once that business becomes a reality. In this module, you’ll learn how to identify the vision and values that will guide you on your business building journey, so that you can stay true to yourself.

 

· M3: Pick the Right Business for You

You may already have a vague idea of the type of business you want to start but it’s important to make sure it matches up with your strengths and talents. In this module, you’ll learn how to ensure this match is there, so you’ll have the best chance of success. Then I’ll help you set revenue goals, so that you’ll have a way to check your progress and your business gets going.

 

· M4: Identify Your Target Customer and Your Niche

There’s no point investing time in building a business if there is no chance of it being profitable. In this module, you’ll learn the steps for researching your market to see if it can be profitable, getting a clearer picture of your ideal customer, and determining if you need to ‘niche-down’ further to compete effectively.

 

· M5: Decide What to Offer and How

Once you understand your target customer, you can make decisions about what to offer that’s also in line with your big ‘why’ and your values and strengths. In this module you’ll explore different business models and how to choose the one right for you. Then you’ll learn how to define the unique value you’ll offer and how to design a minimum viable product to test your market, so you can get feedback before investing too much in one direction.

 

· M6: Set Up the Essentials for Running Your Business

Starting a viable, sustainable business involves a lot more than creating a product and putting it up for sale. There are all sorts of legal administrative, and financial requirements. In this module you’ll go through the most common ones that you’ll have to set up. I’ll provide a checklist of items for you to address. Then you can research any requirements that are specific to your country.

 

· M7: Start Branding Your Business Now

Even though you’re starting with a minimum viable product, it’s important to think about your branding right from the start. In this module, I discuss the elements of an effective brand and how it ties in with your Unique Value Proposition. Then we’ll walk through how to start branding your first offer, so that it has a clear identity that people will remember.

 

· M8: Pick the Right Price

Pricing is always a touchy subject for any business owner since it’s a decision that affects your revenue. In this module, you’ll explore the concept of value vs. price and I’ll explain the different pricing strategy options. You’ll then learn the questions you’ll need to ask to pick your strategy and your minimum viable product.

 

· M9: Set Up Your Marketing

A new business doesn’t need a grand marketing plan to get off the ground, but it pays to have a few strategies in place. In this module, you’ll get started with a few good, low cost marketing tactics that are proven effective. You’ll learn a simple 10-point plan and decide which tactics to choose, so you’ll have something to guide you without being overwhelmed.

 

· M10: Your Launch Starts Here

Business launches are exciting, and stressful. In this module, you’ll learn the importance of carefully planning your launch and how it involves 3 phases – pre-launch, launch, and post-launch. You’ll receive ideas and tips for success in each phase and then put together your own launch plan for your first offer.

 

· M11: Track Your Progress

Successful businesses monitor a few key metrics to make sure they’re on track to achieve their goals. In this module, you’ll learn the 7 key metrics that you should track in your business, so you can use the data to improve and grow in the future.

 

· M12: Move Forward

In the last module, you’ll get sound advice on how to maintain a balance in your life as you immerse yourself in your business. We’ll discuss ways to plan your time, be more productive, and set ongoing goals. You’ll finish by creating your Action Plan so you know exactly what to do next to make your business dream a permanent reality.
