And we both believed that marriage would be easy.
Well, it didn't take long for both of us to realize that marriage was not easy. Especially when we had false notions and unresolved issues.
Conflict rose. Arguments ensued. He said he loved me but wasn't in love with me anymore.
And then he walked out the door. So did I.
It's not supposed to be this hard!
This is not what I had dreamed of - the blissful, fairytale 'ever after'. What happened to that dream?
Was this the end?
I am so thankful to say that it wasn't. It was a close call...but we held on.
I prayed.
I changed.
God started to heal my brokenness.
He started to make me the Godly wife He meant for me to be.
And then He worked a miracle in Marcus. And He placed us on a road to Cultivating a Shatterproof Marriage.
Was it easy? No.
Was it fast? Not a chance.
Did we have to forgive, trust, and make ourselves vulnerable to each other? You bet.
And so much more...we had to make some huge changes and allow God to do His work in our hearts and our lives.
We have learned so much in our 20+ years of marriage. And we are still learning! Still changing. Still healing.
Through this journey, God has shown us how to love each other the way He intended a husband and wife to love each other. And I want to pass on to you what we have learned - how we started Cultivating a Shatterproof Marriage.
